This Architectural Gem was influenced by the renowned Italian Architect Gio Ponti

Villa Ponti Bellavista

Gio Ponti, one of Italy’s most well-known architects and founder and editor of Domus architectural magazine until his death in 1979, was known to the original owner, according to his daughter, Renata Fossati, who was 16 when the villa was built. Renata and her family sold the villa to the current owners in 2017.

Ponti had been chosen as the designer of many transatlantic ship interiors. Influenced by this work, the owner of VPB incorporated ship elements into the design of Villa Ponti. Rich wood panelling, spiral staircase, ship lights and funnels all help create the illusion of a ship floating in a wild mass of cedar greenery above the blue lake.
